I think, therefore I am (not necessarily)

I believe in positive reinforcement and mental motivation. I believe there is power in visualization and clear tangible goals. I believe they can all be accomplished with positive thinking. I know it works! I’ve seen it work! Lately, however, I find myself stuck in with a perspective that thinking is doing… That can not be farther from the truth!

I find myself constantly getting stuck in thinking, feeling, even knowing without a doubt that I can do something. But there always seems to be that disconnect between knowing and doing. No matter what the idea, how motivated I am to do it, or how certain I feel that I can, it still just needs to be done!

I think back to my first business. I had a full plan together I knew the ins and outs and I knew exactly what it would take to make it work and what I needed to avoid to ensure I avoided failure. At one point, I sat down and explained everything to my dad. I was surprised when he’s responded, “So, do it!” honestly, up until that point I hadn’t even thought about that. I mean, in theory I had it all figured out. But in practice I guess I just wasn’t quite ready to make it happen. That is, until I had that push.

Business is more than just the idea. It’s more than just the plan. Good business people have the resolve and determination to make it a reality! It’s the ability to shape their circumstances into exactly the conditions they need to make it work. It’s the strength of character to press on no matter what the situation or circumstances you find yourself in. A good business is led from a deep rooted passion and belief in something more than what your current circumstances provide.

  2. The 8th century Hindu philosopher Adi Shankara wrote in a similar fashion, No one thinks, ‘I am not’, arguing that one’s existence cannot be doubted, as there must be someone there to doubt.
